Tongue and Groove Solid Cedar Fence

This custom 48″ High Tongue-in-Groove solid cedar fence was installed by Academy Fence Company in Maplewood, Essex County, NJ. In order to create continuity of the cedar look and not destroy the customer’s driveway, we used metal poles and boxed over them with cedar boards to create the illusion of wood poles in asphalt.

This 72″ High Custom White PVC Fence features 3″ pickets with a 1″ spacing, on 2″ x 3 1/2″ rails. Academy’s own Eddie and Jorge displayed a good example of the quality workmanship executed here at Academy Fence Company. This style is considered to be ‘semi-private’ because of the narrow 1 inch vertical spacing on the boards. This achieves a degree of privacy, while at the same time leaves space for air flow. Many people choose this type when they want privacy but not a completely blocked in look.

Post and Rail with Wire Mesh Maplewood NJ

We installed this rustic split post and rail fence in Maplewood, NJ, in November 2018. The customer loves the traditional rustic look of post and rail, but needed to close off the large openings between the rails to enclose their dog. That is why we attached black coated welded wire (2in x 4in) mesh to the entire fence. Welded wire mesh is inexpensive and easy to install for most people. If the color black is used, it is nearly invisible. Now they can open their back door and let them out, knowing they are secure in the back yard. In addition, the dogs and children will be more safe from interacting with wild roaming animals like raccoons and deer.
