This is an 8ft high cedar solid board wood privacy fence. It has a custom made double swing gate. It was made and installed by Academy Fence Company in Maplewood, NJ, in June of 2019. The customer's house is situated along-side a commercial property, so they were able to get a 'zoning board variance' for a fence that is higher than the town code allows. We manufacture and sell wood fence material (sections, gates, posts. hardware etc.) and have since the 1960's.

4' spaced picket dog run enclosure
This is a 4' high spaced picket dog run enclosure installed by Academy Fence Company in West Orange, NJ. The customer called us to help them create way to let their dogs outside. We went to their home and instead of fencing in their entire yard, we together arrived at this idea of having a three sided dog run adjacent to the house, so they can open the door and let them out. A simple cedar wood fence is strong and durable. It will last for many years.

The customer has young children, so we together chose this 1 3/4 inch spaced fence to create a outdoor play area where the parents can see their children play in a safe area, just outside their house. This is a spaced picket wood fence, manufactured and installed by Academy Fence Company, in a lovely yard, in Glen Ridge, Essex County, NJ. The call for a quote-estimate came in as a 'wood fence replacement'. When we arrived to meet the homeowner we determined that the posts from the existing fence were strong and in great shape. We gave them a price to simply replace the existing sections with cedar wood fence. This significantly reduced the cost and we are confident the fence will last and look good for decades to come. We installed this cedar wood spaced picket fence in Glen Ridge, NJ. The picket style is 'french gothic', meaning it comes to a point and has a scoop outs on each side. The homeowner went on to paint the fence tan to match their property decor.
Stockade Wood Privacy Fence
This is a standard stockade wooden fence that we installed in Montvillle, NJ. It is a cost effective way to attain privacy and to delineate the property boundary. As with all wood fencing, the thicker the pickets and rails, the better and more long lasting the fence. The standard thickness for quality stockade fence material is 3/4 inch thick pickets. It is better to use 3/4 inch thick pickets because they will hold up and last much longer than thinner discount options. This is what an old fence made out of white cedar wood will look like years after it has been installed. Aged white cedar wood is known for its characteristic of weathering to a desirable light silver/gray. This was installed by us at Academy Fence Company, many years ago. The other nice thing about cedar wood fence is that it stays true (does not warp) for it's relatively long life span. The style is board on board, or shadowbox.

6' Painted Spaced Picket Cedar Fence
This 72" cedar fence features spaced pickets and a painted finish. It was installed in 2014 by Academy Fence Company in Morristown, Morris County, New Jersey. Cedar wood when seasoned takes very well to paint or stain. The customer chose to paint the fence for their own customized look. Although the painted look is desirable, It will require a fresh coat from time to time to maintain the style.
6' Weathered Solid Board Cedar Fence
This solid board cedar fence was installed at Whole Foods in Morristown, Morris County, New Jersey about 10 years ago by Academy Fence Company. The natural silver-gray look of cedar wood is a result of sunlight and oxidation since the job was installed. All other woods used for fencing tend to weather to a rotted dark look.

Rustic Split Rail - With Vinyl-Coated Welded Wire
This 3 rail rustic split rail fence was installed by Academy Fence Company in Boonton, Morris County, NJ, features our vinyl-coated welded wire for extra animal deterrence and a nice touch! The posts are Locust, a very hard wood, proven to last long when set in the ground. The rails are mixed soft woods, usually hemlock, which are desirable long lasting rails. The attached black welded wire adds a low visibility shield by blocking passage through the rustic style fence. In this case, a cedar picket gate was chosen.

This 60" tall decorative solid cedar 'tongue and groove' fence was made and installed by Academy Fence Company in the historical town of Morristown, Morris County, New Jersey. The customer was very pleased to add an elegant look to their classical home with our custom wood fence installation. The posts are finished off with pyramid cedar post caps. Our fence company has been making wood cedar fence since the 1960's.
4' Solid Tongue in Groove Cedar Fence
This custom 48" High Tongue-in-Groove solid cedar fence was installed by Academy Fence Company in Maplewood, Essex County, NJ. In order to create continuity of the cedar look and not destroy the customer's driveway, we used metal poles and boxed over them with cedar boards to create the illusion of wood poles in asphalt.
4' French Gothic Spaced Picket Cedar Fence
This 48" Cedar Spaced Wood Picket Fence with French Gothic Points was installed by Academy Fence Company at a residential property in Maplewood, NJ. French Gothic refers to the style of having the pickets come to a point and with the additional styling of two 'scoops' cut out on each side below the point. 6' Solid Tongue and Groove Cedar
This is a 72" tall solid 'Tongue and Groove' Cedar Fence. Notice how it is 'stepped' to follow ground contour. This was recently installed by Academy Fence Company in Morristown, Morris County, NJ. The 'Tongue and Groove' boards give complete privacy as the boards are 'grooved' on their vertical edge and inserted into each other leaving no space. The wood is white cedar which is known for its long lasting, insect repellent qualities. White cedar fence boards tend to stay 'true' or straight and weather to a more desirable silver gray over time.
